Consaya
Our own product — a finance and compliance platform for UAE businesses
Sector: Financial software · Year: 2026 · consaya.com
Summary
Consaya is a Thanaaya Technologies product, wholly owned and operated by us. A multi-tenant business management platform: double-entry books, multi-entity consolidation, UAE VAT and corporate tax filing packs, payroll, and payment collection — in English and Arabic.
Challenge
UAE companies with subsidiaries in several currencies run their books in spreadsheets and re-derive VAT and corporate tax by hand every quarter. Off-the-shelf accounting packages either ignore UAE filing formats entirely or price per seat in a way that makes a small team uneconomic. We built Consaya to close that gap, and we carry the product risk ourselves.
Approach
- Built a genuine double-entry ledger rather than a transaction list with a reporting layer bolted on, so every figure on every statement traces to a journal entry.
- Modelled the account as a group of legal entities, each with its own book in its own functional currency, consolidating into a group profit and loss in a selectable presentation currency.
- Implemented UAE VAT 201 and corporate tax filing packs as downloadable, auditable artefacts derived from the ledger — not re-keyed.
- Delivered the entire product bilingually, English and Arabic, with right-to-left layout and Arabic-Indic numerals, and a language choice that persists across the session.
- Gated 37 routes behind an explicit permission model after an audit found the API was correctly enforcing permissions the router was not.
Outcome
The platform runs a real book today, with float reconciliation, bank rules, payment collection through the client’s own gateway, and a 34-suite regression pack that must pass before anything ships.
